and self-image, Kristine aspires for her artwork
to resonate with human desire for acceptance, embracing both our true selves and our
darker facets.
In 1984, Kristine Kurbe was born in Latvia.
Following her fine art diploma, she
relocated to the United Kingdom.
Kristine is most recognized for her use of harrowing themes in her paintings, photographs, sculptures, and illustrations. Blood or skeletal characteristics are
frequently used in her artwork in order to represent suffering and demise.
The main character is surrounded with layers
of colour or resin, and patterns that are frequently observed in nature.
